Terminal Berlin

Dismantling of the tank terminal

Our tank terminal in Berlin, which previously operated under the name Oiltanking Deutschland, is being dismantled. Regular operations ended on 31 March 2025. The tanks are now empty, and preparations for the dismantling process are underway. Our goal is to clear the site completely by 31 December 2026.

Dismantling process

Work will commence in Spring 2025 and will include:

  • Dismantling of steel tanks, pipelines, and concrete containment basins
  • Removal of loading facilities for tank lorries and railway tank wagons
  • Dismantling of berths and restoration of shore reinforcements
  • Demolition of all other facilities and operational buildings
  • Removal of demolition materials and, if necessary, levelling of the site

Impact on the neighbourhood

We are committed to minimising disruptions as much as possible. However, temporary disturbances may occur, including:

  • Noise and vibrations from cutting the steel tanks and demolishing concrete structures
  • Increased traffic due to the transportation of demolition materials

All work will be carried out within legally permitted hours.

What will happen to the site?

As we do not own the land, we are not involved in its future development.

How will the site be used going forward?

As enport (formerly Oiltanking Deutschland) does not own the land, the company is not involved in plans for its further development. Further information can be obtained from the planning authority at the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district office, in the urban development department:
